Susan Gruber

Susan Gruber, who has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, was honored for her achievements and dedication to her credit union. Her accomplishments include introducing a lucrative new savings account for small savers and building a complete financial analysis team. She is a graduate of St. Joseph's University with an MBA from Boston University. Prior to her role at Patelco, she was the CFO of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union where she was also involved in membership and community to complement her financial background. At Patelco, Gruber created and developed their financial analysis team. She also worked closely with the Chief Retail Officer, where they introduced two unique deposit products focused on money market accounts and CDS, which greatly increased member deposits. Her prior capital markets experience helped Patelco improve IRR position, liquidity risk and yield performance. Gruber sees her role as a CFO to also help educate the Board on current topics, such as supplemental capital and risk-based capital, to help them fulfill their governance role. Gruber is active with the Children's Miracle Network and Habitat for Humanity where she helped raise money and build houses.

Market was recognized for his achievements in leading the development of a variety of financial surveys, scorecards, analysis and benchmarks of the key strategic goals and tactics to measure and strengthen a credit union’s overall performance. As an educator and mentor, he fostered collaboration within the CUNA CFO Council to create surveys and share financial data for the credit union industry. He is an advocate and promotes financial literacy in public schools, education, career development and community involvement as an adjunct professor at LaSalle University’s MBA program. Market’s leadership and dedication contribute to the advancement of the credit union movement.
