ALM Process & Strategies
10.22.2014 - 10.22.2014 (cfo)
What are the requirements for building an effective interest rate risk management process? We will explore the history of interest rate risk management, and how it has evolved into the number one priority of regulators. Over the course of the session we will examine the six basic questions that financial institutions are required to answer in order adequately understand risk and how these apply to interest rate risk. The difference between Planning and Risk Management will be highlighted as well as how these two critical functions are often confused.
Finally, we will look at where the entire risk management process is headed in the future. State of the art methods of stress testing will be explored. The talk will conclude with a discussion of the ultimate objective of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).
