2014 HR/TD Council Excellence Award Winners Roundtable

12.18.2014 - 12.18.2014 (HR & OD)

CUNA’s HR/TD Council sponsors the Excellence Awards, a program to recognize and honor credit unions that exemplify excellence in the human resources and training disciplines and serves to promote credit union philosophies through people leadership. In this virtual roundtable, you will hear from winners as they provide an overview of the programs that won them the awards in 2014.  In addition, learn about how the program works and how you can participate.

During this roundtable, you will hear how:

  • Consumers Credit Union in Kalamazoo, Mich. developed and delivered innovative learning approaches to both employees and members that directly aligned with their organizational strategies. The credit union's leadership and succession planning training plans will also be shared.
  • Red Canoe in Longview, Wash. implemented an “Apples2Apples” program, a first of its kind co-opetition where Red Canoe partnered with Empower Federal Credit Union in New York in an attempt to work together in saving their members as much money as possible. Working together, they saved their members over $2.7 million in just three months.
  • United FCU in Saint Joseph, Mich. built a successful skill-based pay system for Tellers.” This will be a practical presentation of the steps they took in building a skills-based pay program to support sales and service initiatives and increase retention across our branch network.
