Website Compliance: ADA Guidelines and More Webinar
04.19.2017 - 04.19.2017 (M & BD)
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CT Online via Adobe Connect
This webinar offers marketers or other non-compliance experts an opportunity to better understand what they need to do in order to bring their credit union’s website into a fully compliant state under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and understand how to better manage ongoing compliance needs.
In 2018, the Department of Justice is expected to release guidelines for businesses to conform to so that their website is Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant. Making websites accessible to everyone should be a priority for all website owners, but it’s getting increased attention as many well-known brands have faced law suits for discriminating against those with visual disabilities. Making a website compliant involves a combination of design best practices, programming best practices and a process for conforming to those standards as sites grow and change over time. In this webinar, credit unions will learn about current Web Content Accessibility (WCAG) 2.0 guidelines, explore the different levels of compliance, hear about recent litigation and upcoming DOJ announcements, and what it takes to make a website conformant and much more.
During this session, you will:
- Understand best practices for website conformance
- Learn what it will take to make your website conformant
- Explore the different levels of website compliance and which applies to most credit unions
- Understand what processes you will need to put in place to keep your site conformant
