By CUNA Lending Council07.11.2017

CUNA Lending Council Conference will be held Nov. 12-15, 2017, in Nashville. Gathering lending leaders from credit unions across the nation, the conference provides opportunities to explore current developments in their field, meet and discuss issues with their contemporaries, and explore ways to enhance their loan programs.

“CUNA Lending Council Conference is about advancing attendees’ growth as lending professionals,” said Mike London, SVP Lending, Georgia United FCU and 2017 conference chair. “Because attendees get exposed so many new, interesting, practical ideas, they leave with a greater capacity to meet members’ needs and improve their overall lending strategy.”

Two speakers will keynote the event. Jean Chatzky, best-selling author and financial editor of The Today Show, will open the conference with “The Difference: How Anyone Can Prosper Even in The Toughest Times,” in which she will reveal simple, effective personal finance strategies. Closing the conference is Phil Hanson, multimedia artist and author, who will discuss the need for creative solutions in “Embrace the Shake: Transforming Limitations into Opportunities”. As an added bonus, conference attendees will also hear from Sheena Iyenger as she presents “The Art of Choosing”.

During the conference, attendees get to take part in a series of breakout sessions based on the three pillars of credit union lending – consumer, mortgage and member business lending. Covering important current topics in credit union lending, gaining insight from experts in the field and discussing solutions with peers. Group networking sessions and a vendor showcase will also be available for attendees.

Additionally, the conference will host the 2017 CUNA Lending Council Awards, which recognize exceptional achievement and top performers in the credit union lending field. To learn more about these awards and submit a nomination, please visit the awards website.
