For 13 years, Stephen LaBarbera has provided audit and consulting services to credit unions and credit union service organizations. Leveraging his knowledge and experience gained from leading opinion audits, accounting implementation projects and internal audits, he serves as a year-round trusted advisor for many credit unions. Well-adept to successfully meet the specific needs of each client, he works alongside financial institutions throughout the entire engagement process, proactively addressing concerns, offering recommendations, and executing a detailed and efficient engagement. Stephen is often called on for his expertise by national, regional, and local technical and industry-related associations. He has become a recognized speaker and author on a variety of credit union related topics. Stephen is a leader in Doeren Mayhew’s internal education programs, including the firm’s Audit and Accounting Committee, and provides educational training to clients and colleagues on a wide range of accounting and auditing topics.
