David Tyree
Special Agent David Tyree is the Resident Agent in Charge for the DEA in the State of Wyoming. David was hired by the DEA in September of 1998. He has been assigned to the Albuquerque, New Mexico Portland, Oregon, Lisbon, Portugal Country Office where he served as the Assistant Country Attaché to the US Ambassador in Portugal and Cape Verde, Africa. In June of 2016, David returned to the United States, assigned to the Cheyenne Resident Office. In 2017, David was promoted to Resident Agent in Charge of Wyoming.
David has extensive experience in poly-drug investigations, long-term undercover operations, drug interdiction and is a certified in Federal Court as an expert in money laundering. David instructs money laundering detecting and prevention investigative and techniques for the DEA and for the United States Department of Justice’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Unit. David has provided anti-money laundering training to several financial institutions across the United States and to law enforcement in Africa and the Middle East.
David is an Oregon native with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon. He has been married for 25 years and is the proud father of three beautiful children.
