CUNA Technology Council awards programs

As a Technology Council member, you're encouraged to nominate your peers for a variety of awards and recognition programs. Whether you're seeking to gain recognition for your own internal credit union stars, or have peers that deserve the spotlight, acknowledge the best and brightest with our awards programs.

Excellence in Technology Awards

This award identifies, recognizes and honors credit unions that exemplify excellence in technology. It showcases innovative approaches to serving members, acknowledging their universal application to credit unions nationwide and sharing the solutions with our peers.

This year’s winners included:

  • Best of Show: Kinecta FCU in Manhattan Beach, CA, for their “Preapproval of Credit Cards using Machine Learning” entry (assets > $500 Million)
  • Mountain America CU in Sandy, UT, for their “Automated Balance Transfer Payoff Tool” entry (assets > $500 Million)
  • GECU in El Paso, TX, for their “Virtualization of GECU’s On Premise Core Mainframe Processing Infrastructure” entry (assets > $500 Million)
  • UFCU in Austin, TX, for their “Reinventing the Loan Application Experience” entry (assets > $500 Million)

Professional of the Year Award

This award honors one individual who exemplifies excellence in credit union information technology. It recognizes individuals who, in all aspects of their chosen profession, consistently excel for the benefit of their credit union and the advancement of the cooperative movement.

Rising Star Award

This award recognizes and honors an emerging technology professional in the credit union industry. The recipient of this prestigious award will be someone whose work demonstrates ongoing and exceptional growth. Their contribution to the future of the credit union industry is evident during the time they've been a part of the movement.

Top Community Contributor Award

This award recognizes the value and expertise shared with peers through collaboration within the Councils Community networking platform. The value generated by asking and answering questions and sharing documents and ideas is one of our greatest member-driven benefits. The winner is identified based on quality and quantity of contributions.
