Greg Inman Servant Leadership Award

An industry-wide award that honors and values the principles of servant Leadership.

The Greg Inman Servant Leadership Award recognizes those who live the core value of service to others before self.

“Be a leader not a follower and put others first.” – Greg Inman

CUNA Councils wanted to pay a memorial tribute to its leader Greg Inman, who passed unexpectedly in 2021. There was little doubt as to the focus of this recognition.

Greg was the epitome of a servant leader. He helped develop others, demonstrated unselfish wisdom, served as a guide, and had that rare sense of pure ethics and honorable humility. To honor him, the Greg Inman Servant Leadership Award was created.

In memorializing Greg, we look to recognize individuals that demonstrate those principles of Servant Leadership that that Greg so often exhibited.

  • Values people:  Believes, serves, and listens to others
  • Develops People: Provides learning, growth, encouragement, and affirmation
  • Builds Community: Develops strong collaborative and personal relationships inside and outside of the industry and within their own communities
  • Displays Authenticity: Is open, accountable, and willing to learn from others
  • Provides Leadership: Foresees the future, takes initiative, and establishes goals
  • Shares Leadership: Facilitates the sharing of power

The recipient of this award will be an individual who has put these principles on display and who currently or previously has had a significant connection to the credit union world as a credit union, league, association, or CUSO employee; a board member or volunteer; or other industry supporter.
