Peter Brost
Peter Brost is an intelligence professional with over 25 years of experience as a soldier and leader in the United States Army, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Intelligence Community. Born in New Jersey, Peter Brost graduated from Rutgers University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology/Administration of Justice, as well as a Certificate in Criminology. After graduation, Peter Brost joined the United States Army and spent his 10-year military career as an enlisted Persian Farsi Army Linguist and Infantry Officer. He is a proud combat veteran, having served in Kosovo in 2011 and nearly 24 months in Kuwait and Iraq, during his two tours supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Since leaving military service, he has held multiple DHS intelligence positions. This includes senior analytic appointments within DHS’ Office of Intelligence Analysis (I&A), which is DHS’ Intelligence Community representative, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA). His areas of analytic focus have included radicalization/extremism; domestic and international terrorism; counterintelligence and cybersecurity.
His most previous I&A position was the Tactics and Targets Team Lead for the Homeland Counterterrorism Division. In 2015, Peter Brost transitioned over to DHS’ National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD) Office of Cyber and Infrastructure Analysis (OCIA), which is now the Intelligence Division within DHS’ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA Intel).
Currently, Peter is CISA Intel’s Intelligence Analysis Branch Chief, leading the agency’s intelligence analytic support to departmental and organizational mission efforts, to include DHS’ Election Security Initiative. Throughout his career, Peter Brost has independently represented DHS, the Intelligence Enterprise and NPPD/CISA at over 300 separate engagements attended by federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal government partners, as well as representatives of the 16 critical infrastructure sectors.
He holds a Master of Science of Strategic Intelligence degree from the National Intelligence University and a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity Policy and Compliance from George Washington University. Besides his government career, Pete Brost is also an active volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Kensington (MD) Volunteer Fire Department.
